What We Do

Our Mission

Our mission is to create a safe, nurturing, and rehabilitative environment for children who have been victims of trafficking. We are dedicated to establishing a secure house where these young survivors can begin to heal, rebuild their lives, and regain their sense of hope. The mission of Children Such as These is to act as a bridge between the discovery of at-risk or exploited children and their placement in a secure, nurturing environment. Working with Law Enforcement is at the core of our mission to ensure both the safety of the children and the legality of all operations.

Our Vision

Our Vision is to bring together Federal, State, and Local Law Enforcement agencies in the fight against child abductions, human trafficking, and sexual exploitation. At 'Children Such as These' we envision a “safe house” nestled in the wilderness for at least 50 children, who have been rescued from trafficking and abuse. A place where every child will receive therapeutic care, rehabilitation, counseling, medical care, equine therapy, education, and safety. Where children can once again be children, cherished, empowered, respected, and loved. Through unwavering dedication, advanced intelligence, and compassionate care, our goal is to bring healing and hope to survivors.

Meet the Founder:
Jeffrey Pimentel

The inspiration to open this center comes from a deep personal commitment to making a lasting impact on the lives of children who have experienced unspeakable trauma. My desire to help trafficking survivors stems from my own experiences of abuse, both physical and emotional. Throughout my life, I’ve been driven by a passion for justice—especially for the most vulnerable members of society: children.

As a former police officer with 31 years of experience, I have seen firsthand the devastating effects of trafficking and abuse on children, and it has left a profound mark on my heart. The invisible scars—emotional, physical, and psychological—that these young victims carry are gut-wrenching.

Not having a voice or the resources to help when I was growing up left me carrying the burden of helplessness and frustration. What drives me is not a desire for retribution, but a belief that I can play a part in their healing. By creating a safe place where these children can regain their sense of love, safety, dignity, and self-worth, I can make a lasting difference in their lives.
